The april2008 public website is now running on Wordpress Blog.
- you become independent to put your local information, posters, flyers, etc.
- the blog is multilingual, when you work on it, when you edit it, you work in your language, so you can't get terrorized by complicated english words
- every language = a separate category
- you can create subcategories (e.g.Initiatives, Texts)

Howto use the Wordpress:
The system of the webpage is divided into Categories. Categories have names after languages. Every category can have subcategories.
So it looks like this:
English
- Call
- Initiatives
- Reports
- Texts
It's important to keep the site organised, so every new post should be a part of some subcategory. All the reports go into the subcategory "Reports", all the planned actions go to "Initiatives"..etc.
Don't create new pages (pages are static and won't be seen on your page, the only static pages are the Front page and the Materials pages), you will usually need to create a new post, that will be shown in the weblog.
You shouldn`t do any big changes to the website without discussing it with others.
The main page is static and it should serve as a gateway to all the other sections, it should stay very simple and include the general and important info for all.

Howto publish through the Wordpress:
- click on "log in"
- choose your language and log in
- click on "Write" and you can start writing a new post:
When writing a new post, a few things need to be taken care of. We'll pretend we're posting an announcement for an 'action' in a city called 'Squatville'.
1. we're setting the title as « City: topic »: Squatville: action
2. we're selecting the categories to which the post belongs: 'English', because the post is written in english; 'Initiatives', because it's an action announce;
3. we're putting the contents of the post; if the post is more than a few paragraphs, we don't want it to fill the entire page when people browse the site, so we're inserting a line break after a short description and/or image, by switching to "Code" in the editing panel, and inserting: <!--more--> ..where it is appropriate. This will cause a "more..." clickable link to appear, for people to unfold the whole article.
4. we're setting a city & country 'tags' for this post: 'Squatville', 'World'
5. we're publishing!
As you see, it's pretty simple. If we all stick to that, I bet we can have a fairly ordered site that will be easy and comfortable to browse.

Howto create a subcategory in the Wordpress:
- log in
- click on "Manage"
- click on "Categories"
- click "add new"
- "Category name": fill in the NAME of your new category
- "Category parent": choose the CATEGORY ABOVE, usually your language, e.g. ENGLISH etc. (very important to keep the website organised!!)
- click on "Add Category"

Howto upload a poster, picture etc:
- log in
- click on "Write"
- go to section Upload and "Browse.." your files to add your pic or movie (2MB maximum!)
- give it a title and "Upload" it
- now, you can even drag and drop it with your mouse and move it to your post above, that you`re just writing...or choose the options to display it and Send to Editor
